Pass Plus Driving Training

What is Pass Plus?

Pass Plus was developed by the Driving Standards Agency. It is a six part training course which helps new drivers get experience in towns, all-weathers, out of town and rural roads, night driving, dual carriageway and motorways. Each part lasts an hour.

Your instructor will be looking for a good standard of driving in all six areas. They will also want to see improved observation, care, courtesy and consideration for other road users and the ability to anticipate hazards and take the necessary action. There is no test at the end. Your instructor will sign off your training form and send it to the DSA, who will then send you a Pass Plus certificate.

Why choose to take Pass Plus?

Cheaper car insurance. With Pass Plus, you can significantly reduce your car insurance premiums or get an extra no claims bonus with many insurance companies. The savings you make are likely to cover the cost of your Pass Plus lessons and more. We fully supports Pass Plus as an excellent way for new drivers to get more experience on the road and benefit from large insurance discounts in the first, often most expensive year on the road.

Remember if you are under 21 years old, this course could save you 20% to 45% from your insurance quote with companies who support this scheme.

How does it work?

Don't be put off there is no test!!! You have to achieve a standard on each module that can possibly be attained in one lesson, or maybe more. Once the standard has been achieved, the instructor signs the module off - complete with date. When all six have been completed, the form is sent to DSA so that a certificate can be issued.

How can I arrange a Pass plus course?

If you learnt to drive with Pass N Go there is a good chance that your instructor will be able to continue your lessons after your test and cover the Pass Plus syllabus. Simply speak to your instructor about the Pass Plus scheme or contact our centre on 0800 345 7816.

If you've learnt with a driving school that is unable to carry out Pass plus training why not take the course with a Pass N Go instructor? We'll be happy to talk to you about how we can help.
